We were fortunate to be invited to participate in a two-day conference focused on the development of standards and curriculum for preparing teachers in Mongolia. We were driven to this conference center, not too far from UB, and we spent two full (Friday 9 - 7; Saturday 9 - 6) days at work.

The center is in a lovely setting.
On the first day, the main activity was hearing presentations from a variety of university personnel, including our school's director, Enkhtsetseg. She reported out the very preliminary results of our work on the standards, curriculum and in-service training.

There were about 50 of us at work. The second day, smaller groups worked on recommendations for curriculum models and for models of expanding the students' practice teaching opportunities. Our group was small - four of us from the Teacher's School, and three others from university extension sites in the far countryside. One bonus, Odgerel and I have been invited to two of these sites in the next two months. More adventures!
